SUBSTRATE-FREE
CULTIVATION
Why Growing Substrate-free?
Healthy Roots
Bare-root plants develop strong and well-structured root systems that are easy to handle and perfectly suited for further hydroponic cultivation.
Pests & Diseases
Without substrate, there is less breeding ground for bacteria, fungi, or parasites, significantly reducing the risk of infections and pest infestations.
Streamlined System
Since no loose substrate particles are involved, the system remains clean, simplifying the entire cultivation process and saving both time and resources.
Maintenance Effort
Eliminating substrate drastically reduces cleaning and maintenance work, making the operation easier and more efficient in the long run.
Sustainability
By avoiding substrates like peat, natural resources are conserved while water and nutrients are utilized more precisely and efficiently.
Cost Savings
Optimized cultivation without additional materials lowers both operational costs and resource consumption, creating a sustainable and cost-effective solution.
How to Grow Substrate-free?
At Sinterra, we are dedicated to simplifying substrate-free hydroponics and making it accessible to everyone. In cooperation with Pöppelmann TEKU - an expert in horticulture equipment - we develop innovative propagation solutions that offer flexibility and seamlessly replace traditional grow plugs and plant pots. Our solutions are designed for a wide range of applications, from small home systems to large-scale, fully automated hydroponic farms. We place great emphasis on ease of use and sustainability, ensuring a seamless and eco-friendly growing experience.
Application
Seed (pelleted preferred) is placed in substrate-free grow plug (bottom end under water)
Seed is moistured once with a few drops of water
Seedling starts growing its roots into the water reservoir
When seedling is big enough it can be transplanted into the hydroponic system
